Photo Trouvée Residency
2025

I was selected as one of nine artists to be a part of the Photo Trouvée Artist Residency. The residency was a 10-week virtual program led by Juliana Naufel and Twiggy Boyer, founders of Photo Trouvée Magazine. It is a time for artists seeking focused time and creative growth. During our time together, we were invited to set personal goals, dedicate time to our art practice, and commit to meaningful projects. For me, this was creating new work that built upon the previous series, Linage. I was able to make connections with like-minded artists worldwide, and enjoy a supportive community for feedback and inspiration.

This body of work is deeply interconnected through the use of eco-dyed papers, vintage photographs, film, and slides. The collection began when I discovered a large group of photographs from the same family at a vintage bookstore. Compelled to curate and share my experience of their lives, I sought to explore both the visual language and the written text on these images. The interplay between what is seen and what is written creates a layered narrative. Many of the eco-dyed papers are made from unwrapped envelopes, evoking the intimate written communications shared between family members, adding another dimension to the storytelling.
